The Photographer

DugFinn

Yoh! So much to say; so little text room, heh.

I'm a passionate cosplayer and a rabid gamer. But I also have this little hobby of taking photos. I'm a huge Photoshop fan, so I tend to 'shop every picture I can get my hands on.

I started taking pictures in my high school Photography class. I used an old Pentex 35mm with B&W film and I had to develop all the photos by hand. I'll tell you right now - I hated it! I mean, taking the pictures was fine, but developing them! Ugh! I hated dealing with the chemicals and stuff.

I was a graphic design student so I usually snuck my photos into my Photoshop class and manipulated the hell out of them. Now THAT was beyond fun! I kept wishing for a way to just be able to take the photos and get them on the computer without the messy middle part. And then BAM! Digital Camera! I was so happy!

My first digital SLR was a Canon XSi. I used a Canon Rebel 35mm previous to that, so the switch over was super smooth! It's actually the camera I still use to this day.

Everynow and then, I go to anime convensions, get an Artist Alley Table, and do nothing but photoshoots. I bring my photoprinter with me, that delicious wide format sexy beast, grrr! Heh. I ask the cosplayer to pic a photo and I give them a printed copy of the photo right then and there at the con itself! This got really popular, so much so, that I had to start doing sign-ups and scheduling people hours ahead of time!

Unlike many other photographers, I'm also a cosplayer, so I can understand the special meaning and importance of a good photo. When I cosplay, I'm Digital Dimension Cosplay, so it only seemed natural that when I switch over to photo-mode, I should go as Digital Dimension Photography.

I got several requests if I could email the 'shoots, and many wanted prints sent to them through the mail. I figured to make things easier, I'd create this website! And so, DDP was born!
